October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!
We have made advancements in research, prevention, treatment, and education, but we have so much more work to do. We need the power of your voice, the strength of your pen, and the generosity of your pockets to fight.
· The American Cancer Society (ACS) lists breast cancer as the second most common cancer in women in the United States, and estimates one in eight women will develop breast cancer.
· ACS estimates about 281,550 new cases of invasive breast cancer in women will be diagnosed in 2021, and about 43,600 women will die from breast cancer.
· ACS estimates about 2,650 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed in 2021, and about 530 men will die from breast cancer.
As a cancer survivor, I know early detection and screenings save lives; they saved mine. When I receive my mammogram each year, I know 3D mammography is a direct result of continued advancements in research. I know genetic testing and counseling will benefit my loved ones. I know my voice has helped enact laws to protect others who will travel the journey.
Please help me help others by donating in the fight against breast cancer.
