For a minimum of a $10 donation you can help me light up "Oregon" with your dedicated bag and help us show a visible reminder to Congress that they need to do more to help fight this disease.
Funds raised through Lights of Hope enable ACS CAN to continue its mission to make fighting cancer a national priority with lawmakers in Washington DC.
I became involved with the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) because of my dad. We found out he had lung cancer mid July 2018 and he passed away 1 1/2 months later in October 2018. He started smoking at age 14. I have learned the importance of letting our legislators know what we know that will help save lives!
This year, instead of being in Washington DC, on September 12th at 7 pm we will line up our Lights of Hope bags on the steps of our state capital in Salem, Oregon, to show encouragement and remembrance for those who have fought cancer, been a caregiver or lost a loved one. In order to social distance it will be a drive by event.
I’ll be honoring my parents. In Memory of my DAD and In Support of my MOM. I’d love for those you know who have been touched by cancer - friends and loved ones - to be part of it too.
Thank you for your support.
