Typically, In September, more than 40,000 Lights of Hope bags would have lined the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in Washington, DC. Each one of these bags represents someone that has had cancer. COVID-19 has prevented our in person event this year so I am bringing this ceremony to my hometown.
I’ll be honoring my friends and family at this very special event. I’d love for those you know who have been touched by cancer - friends and loved ones - to be part of it too. Please join me on Saturday, September 12th at the Portland High School parking lot for a drive through only Lights of Hope ceremony from 6 p.m. to dusk! Please use the tennis court entrance to begin the drive through.
I will be celebrating her 10th anniversary this year as a cancer survivor. “It is important to me to be a voice for others with a cancer story and keep policies that affect cancer patients and their families a national priority with our lawmakers.”
For a minimum of a $10 donation you can help us light the Lincoln Memorial with your dedicated bag and help us send a visible reminder to Congress that they need to do more to help fight this disease.
