This is my 15th year as a cancer advocate with ACS Cancer Action Network. In normal years, I would be going to DC in September for our annual Lobby Day and Lights of Hope ceremony. Instead I will be advocating hard from home with our team to get Congressional support for research funding and cancer legislation. No doubt it will be one of our most challenging years to maintain current levels of support and funding.
The pandemic has changed many things including the 10th anniversary of Lights of Hope. Instead of a single ceremony at the National Mall honoring loved ones touched by cancer, multiple ceremonies will be held in all 50 states and thousands of communities with live streaming planned for Sept. 12th. While I'll miss the beauty and inspiration of 40,000 Lights of Hope lining the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, I'm totally inspired to help promote Lights of Hope Across America in 2020.
For a minimum $10 donation you can honor someone a loved one touched by cancer & help us send a strong message to Congress that more must be done to end the burden of cancer on our country -- a burden that claims over 500,000 Americans every year.
Thank you for donating to Lights of Hope. Your support means the world to me!
