Dear [Decision Maker],

As a volunteer for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN), I am writing to you today regarding funding for cancer research and prevention programs in the FY2021 Labor, Health and Human Services Appropriations bill. Federal cancer investments represent American government at its best -- saving lives, driving innovation, and fueling economic growth in every corner of the country.

Specifically, in FY 2021 I am asking you to support at least $44.7 billion (a $3 billion increase) for NIH, including $6.9 billion for cancer research at the National Cancer Institute (NCI). Additionally, I ask that you support $559 million for the CDC's cancer programs, including $70 million (a $19 million increase) for cancer registries, in the FY 2021 funding bill. Finally, I'd ask that you support at least $310 million (an $80 million increase) for critical tobacco cessation programs at CDC's Office on Smoking and Health (OSH).

Thank you for your continued support of cancer patients and their families.

Sincerely,
