Dear [Decision Maker],

As a Wyoming resident concerned about health and preventing cancer, I believe expanding Medicaid is a win-win for Wyoming. It will bring an estimated $135 million of our tax dollars back home to Wyoming and help to significantly reduce our multi-million-dollar budget shortfall.

Not only will increased access to Medicaid make it possible to provide affordable, quality health coverage which includes life-saving cancer screenings and treatments to more Wyomingites, but it will provide a reliable stream of federal revenue that could allow the state to redirect funds to other important areas like education and supporting our cities, towns, and counties. Furthermore, it protects our hospitals which are left with more than $114 million a year in uncompensated care costs from treating the uninsured and that burden is made significantly worse with the COVID-19 crisis.

Expansion will benefit every sector of Wyoming's economy -- small and large businesses, health care providers, hospitals, and more than 19,000 Wyomingites who work hard but can't afford insurance.

I urge your support for expanding Medicaid when this issue comes up for a vote in the Joint Revenue Committee.
