Dear [Decision Maker],

As your constituent and a volunteer for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN), I am writing to ask you to support HF 3322 (Kunesh-Podein)/SF3121 (Utke), legislation to remove barriers to breast and cervical cancer treatments.

The CDC's National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program funds states and organizations to screen low income, underinsured, or uninsured women. Under federal law, any woman diagnosed with cancer through this CDC-funded program is automatically eligible for Medicaid.

However, Minnesota statute adopted this narrowly, and says that only women diagnosed through one specific CDC-funded program is automatically eligible for Medicaid, leaving out women diagnosed through other CDC-funded programs in Minnesota.

I support HF3322/SF3121, legislation that would follow federal law and update state statute to make sure any woman diagnosed with cancer through any CDC-funded program can access the treatment she needs to survive the disease and improve her quality of life.

I hope I can count on you to support HF3322/SF3121 when it comes before you in committee or on the floor.
