Support LB 840

Dear [Decision Maker],

As an American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network volunteer, I'm asking that you support LB 840, which adds e-cigarette products to Nebraska's Clean Indoor Air Act.

E-cigarette aerosol is not harmless. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, e-cigarette aerosol can contain harmful and potentially harmful substances including: nicotine; ultrafine particles; flavoring such as diacetyl, a chemical linked to a serious lung disease; cancer-causing chemicals; volatile organic compounds; and heavy metals such as nickel, tin, and lead. Because of these identified risks, the Surgeon General has recommended that states add e-cigarette products to clean indoor air laws.

When it comes to the ability to breathe clean air in workplaces, e-cigarettes should be treated in the same ways as other tobacco products.

Thank you for taking time to read my comments on this important public health issue for our state.
