Cancer patients can't afford to wait.

Dear [Decision Maker],

Waiting an extended amount of time for insurers to approve a prescription, a process called prior authorization, can directly interfere with a cancer patient's treatment and impact their quality of life. Pennsylvania's current prior authorization rules can keep patients from receiving timely and often life-saving health care.

In national surveys conducted by the American Medical Association:

92% of physicians reported prior authorization had a negative effect on patient clinical outcomes
78% of patients reported that prior authorization can lead to treatment abandonment

Get cancer patients the treatments they need when they need them. Support HB 1194 to improve prior authorization and ensure that patients get the care they need.
