Dear [Decision Maker],

Breast Cancer Awareness month is an important time to show our support for patients and survivors and promote breast cancer prevention, screening, and access to treatment. More than 4,000 Minnesotan women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year. Women of color and American Indians are screened at lower rates for cancer in Minnesota. There are many barriers that block access to breast cancer screenings and treatment.

As your constituent and a volunteer for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN), I look forward to working with you to broaden state statute and make sure any female diagnosed with cancer through a CDC funded program is automatically eligible for Medicaid coverage for their treatment.

Sincerely,
