Dear [Decision Maker],

As a constituent and a volunteer with the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN), I'm reaching out today to ask you to please weigh in with members of the Joint Committee on Revenue in support of S.1606/H.2436, which are being heard by the committee today at 1PM in room B-2.

S.1606/H.2436 would establish a 75% of wholesale tax on e-cigarettes, increase the cigarette tax by $1 per pack, and increase the tax on cigars to 80% of wholesale. This legislation would ensure that we tax all tobacco products equally and bring Massachusetts closer towards ending the trend of youth e-cigarette use, which the US Surgeon General has referred to as a public health epidemic.

By establishing a tax on e-cigarettes and increasing the tax on cigarettes and cigars, we will generate additional revenue for the Commonwealth that could be used to fight the e-cigarette epidemic, help current users to quit, and protect our kids from becoming the next generation to be lured in by Big Tobacco's lies.

Please reach out to your colleagues on the Joint Committee on Revenue and ask them to report S.1606/H.2436 favorably out of committee.

I look forwarding to hearing your response on this important issue.

Thank you!,
