Please oppose HB 3899

Dear [Decision Maker],

Over the past two decades, 104 Texas cities have adopted comprehensive smoke-free indoor air ordinances, protecting the health of workers and allowing restaurant diners to enjoy their meals without being exposed to toxic secondhand smoke.

Please ensure these communities continue to be protected from the harmful effects and addictive nature of tobacco by voting against HB 3899. We should not remove the authority of our city lawmakers to improve the health of their communities and to take positive steps forward to prevent youth from using addictive and deadly tobacco products.

As your constituent and a volunteer with the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, I am asking you to oppose any language that takes away the authority of local governments to regulate tobacco products.

Sincerely,
