Dear [Decision Maker],

As your constituent, and someone who advocates for cancer patients and survivors, I'm writing today to ask that you vote 'no' on Senate File 538 and SF 434 that would impose work and community engagement requirements as a condition of eligibility for "qualified" able-bodied adults enrolled in the state's expanded Medicaid program.

Thank you for voting no on a policy proposal that would tie access to affordable health care for low-income Iowans to work or volunteer requirements. Cancer patients, survivors, and those who will be diagnosed with the disease or other complex chronic conditions could be seriously harmed by these policies and find themselves ineligible for any affordable health care coverage.

Thank you for doing what is right for cancer patients, survivors, and others living with chronic diseases. Please vote no on SF 538 and SF 434. Thank you for your time and consideration.

I look forward to your response.

Sincerely,
