Please vote Yes on HCR76
Dear [Decision Maker],
As your constituent and a volunteer for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, I urge you to support HCR76 on the Senate floor this afternoon. HCR76 is a study resolution that will educate legislators on the costs of secondhand smoke to the state of Louisiana.
Although New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Lafayette have already gone smoke-free, only 22% of Louisiana residents are protected by 100% comprehensive smoke-free laws. This means that the vast majority of bartenders, entertainers, and hospitality workers still can't escape the deadly toxins from secondhand smoke. The U.S. Surgeon General has made it clear that there is NO safe level of exposure to secondhand tobacco smoke. It's time to go statewide. You have the chance to bring us one step closer to ensuring smoke-free air and protecting the health of ALL workers, residents and visitors in Louisiana.
I hope I can count on you to vote YES on HCR76 Hard-working Louisiana residents should not have to choose between their health and a paycheck.
Sincerely,[Your Name] [Your Address] [City, State ZIP][Your Email]
