Dear [Decision Maker],

As a volunteer for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, I am writing to add my support for broadening access to health care to include the approximately 300,000 Virginians who are part of the coverage gap. I'm urging you to work with your colleagues from both chambers towards a compromise on the budget that includes expanding Medicaid.

There must be a Virginia solution that allows Virginians to recapture their federal tax dollars, while reducing the number of uninsured, and leading to a reduction in the cost of uncompensated care, which we all pay. I am asking that you make a positive and meaningful difference in the fight against cancer by providing low-income adults and families in Virginia with affordable health care coverage by expanding Medicaid.

Sincerely,
