Close the Colorectal Cancer Screening Loophole
Dear [Decision Maker],
Colorectal cancer is the second-leading cause of cancer death among men and women combined in the United States, yet it is preventable and curable with regular screening.Unfortunately, seniors on Medicare can wake up from what is supposed to be a free colonoscopy screening with a surprise bill of more than $300 if a polyp is found and removed. The Removing Barriers to Colorectal Cancer Screening Act (S. 479/H.R. 1017) would close this loophole. More seniors getting screened means fewer cancer diagnoses and deaths.
